on Phil to top the table at 5/1 but he may Antworten

DENVER -- When it came to shooting, Wilson Chandler struck a balance between picking his spots and taking his chances. Chandler scored a season-high 25 points and the Denver Nuggets snapped a three-game losing streak by beating the Indiana Pacers 109-96 Saturday night. "I was just being a little aggressive, and I was taking good shots," said Chandler, who hit eight of 15 shots from the field, including half his eight tries from 3-point range. "I probably took one or two bad shots but I was being aggressive and taking good shots at the same time." Nate Robinson and Timofey Mozgov added 15 points apiece and J.J. Hickson had 14 points and 13 rebounds. First-year Nuggets coach Brian Shaw won in his first matchup against Indiana since leaving his job as a Pacers assistant to come to Denver. The victory against Indiana, which still has the best record in the NBA, lifted the Nuggets back to .500 at 21-21. "We came out strong in the first half, and we withstood a great run from them in the second half," Chandler said. "Theyre a pretty good team, maybe the best team in the league right now. They made runs, but we just had to stay focused. If we play well we can contend with any team. Weve played well against a lot of the top teams this year but weve lost to some of the bottom teams. Weve got to play every team like theyre the best in the league." Lance Stephenson scored 23 for Indiana. The Pacers split a road back-to-back set after winning in overtime the night before in Sacramento. "Im proud of our guys after a second night of a back-to-back and change in time zones," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "An emotional win last night, obviously, in overtime. I didnt know how much gas we were going to have in our tank. We really competed at a high level." Paul George added 18 points and David West 16 for the Pacers, who lost for the eighth time in nine trips to Denver. Ty Lawson, who had 12 points and 10 assists, said the Nuggets gained command early by leaning on their transition game. "We wanted to run with them on a back-to-back. That was a main focus," Lawson said. "Thats what (Kenneth) Faried did early. He was running on their bigs and getting easy buckets." Trailing by 19 at halftime, the Pacers got back in the game in a hurry, opening the third quarter with a 16-3 run keyed by Stephensons seven points. The Nuggets responded with a 7-0 burst late in the third that helped them take a 10-point lead into the fourth quarter. Roy Hibbert, held to five points, became the second Pacers player to foul out after drawing his sixth foul with 3:19 remaining. Still, the Pacers pulled to 101-94 when Stephenson made a pair of free throws with 3:14 left. But the Nuggets wouldnt let the Pacers finish off the comeback, getting five straight points on free throws, including a pair from the foul line on technicals against David West and Vogel. The Pacers managed one more basket down the stretch but that was offset by Hicksons emphatic dunk with 1:09 remaining, the final points of the game. "They ran the same play the whole game (pick-and-roll)," West said. "We couldnt get it under control and then we just fouled them. They would have beaten us by almost 40 points if they made their free throws. They shot 56 per cent from the free throw line. They make 10 more and it wouldnt have been a close game." NOTES: The Pacers have trailed at halftime 19 times this season, going 13-6 in those games. ... Former Nuggets executive Carl Scheer was honoured during pregame ceremonies. ... Chandler had 20 or more points for the fourth time this season and the third time in five games. ... Indianas Ian Mahinmi fouled out with 8 minutes remaining. ... Nike Air Max Fury Canada .Michael Briscoe is serving a life sentence for sexual assault, kidnapping and first-degree murder in the death of 13-year-old Nina Courtepatte in 2005.Michael van Gerwen takes on Phil Taylor in Rotterdam on the last night of the regular Premier League season and John Part has picked his winner. Van Gerwen leads the Premier League table on leg difference, but Taylor can snatch top spot if he topples the world No 1 in front of his Dutch fans tonight, live on Sky Sports 1.The battle for the last remaining play-off spot will also be resolved as either Peter Wright or Adrian Lewis attempt to secure a place on the season-ending night at The O2. Robert Thornton v James Wade James Wade failed to secure a place in the top four This is a bit of an exhibition game as it really means nothing. Robert cant change positions and theres only the slimmest of chances James could. Hed need Barney to lose heavily and I dont see that happening, so basically James is playing for pride.Itll still be a great atmosphere so the players will feed off the overall buzz and excitement. It should therefore be a little nervy even if it doesnt mean anything and this should be a great venue to play in, so itll mean a lot to both players. James is kind of spluttering at the moment while Thornton has been turning up, throwing the darts, playing reasonably but not matching the class Wade has shown at his best. Its hard to predict but I think Wade will respond to a poor run. All the pressure and intensity of playing for a position goes but hes good in front of a big crowd and I think hell bounce back. Sky Bet odds: Thornton to win 3/1, Wade to win 4/7Verdict: Wade to win.Peter Wright v Raymond van Barneveld Peter Wright needs a win to keep his play-off hopes alive Peter needs to win this to keep his hopes alive and if he wins heavily he could really have a great chance to reach the top four. Unfortunately for Snakebite, Raymond has every incentive to fire on the last week of the season. Hell want to finish well, particularly in front of a massive home audience, and thats a huge negative for Peter. There are bound to be a bunch of celebrity friends out watching too and I think Raymond will match Peters effort to put on a good show. There is a risk both men try too hard and theres a lot of pressure on Wright, who knows he needs not only to produce himself but also to rely on another result going his way. The other issue for Peter is that Gary Anderson doesnt care about his game against Adrian Lewis, hes third either way, and when hes not interested he doesnt always perform. Sky Live: PL Darts night 15 Michael van Gerwen will be have home support when he faces Phil Taylor in Rotterdam It looks improbable that Wright will advance although hes done a great job to run it this close. He was great last week, annihilating Wade, and hes not going quietly. Nonetheless I find it hard to imagine hell survive. As for this match I fear he mmay struggle if trying a little too hard, especially in this atmosphere, so I quite like Raymond.ddddddddddddHes played some very good darts over so much of the season and his form looks pretty good. This could be one-sided and low on quality given the situation, but Ill stick with Raymond winning.Sky Bet odds: Wright to win evens, Van Barneveld to win 15/8Verdict: Van Barneveld to win.Adrian Lewis v Gary Anderson Adrian Lewis could be feeling the pressure when he faces Gary Anderson The way the standings have worked out couldnt have been better for Adrian. The one thing that could inspire Gary to perform is the venue and the occasion - it could be a wonderful atmosphere, maybe even better than finals night, and perhaps the world champion will want to put on a show. Nobody wants to look like a bum, especially in the match before the highlight which hes not involved in, despite being reigning World and Premier League champion. But necessity is clearly not there and thats often a huge driving factor for Anderson, who does better in that scenario rather than when its all about ego as it is here. Theres certainly a lot in Adrians favour. He certainly has necessity, especially if Peter has won heavily, and either way he should be right up for this.Theres no need to try to spice this up given Gary could throw countless 180s and miss doubles, as we used to expect from him, and the bet is simply Lewis to win the match. I see him doing just that.Sky Bet odds: Lewis to win 5/2, Anderson to win 8/11Verdict: Lewis to win.Phil Taylor v Michael van Gerwen Michael van Gerwen will be seeking a sweet win over Taylor in front of his home fans Phil would absolutely love to win this. Its pretty fairytale-ish either way, really, and we have an intriguing match on so many levels. Two great players, a new venue, a huge crowd… but the probable outcome is still Michael to win. Were on Phil to top the table at 5/1 but he may just miss out.The MVG treble at 9/4 is a good bet, as his record dating back to the start of 2015 is very strong - eight wins, one draw, one loss against Phil. Theres no mystery about who is the dominant player right now and it just depends whether Phil can conjure something magical, which clearly he could do.But even if that happens, and Phil does play his best, Michaels best would still be enough and he has been raising his game all season. Hes 8/13 to win the game which is a good bet alone. However, the match treble is 9/4 and Id only really be concerned about the high out, so its worth the risk at 9/4. This will be a great spectacle and great viewing.Sky Bet odds: Taylor to win 3/1, Van Gerwen to win 8/13Verdict: Van Gerwen to win.Watch all of tonights Premier League matches from 7pm tonight on Sky Sports 1.
