Konecny, a 17-year-old from Clachan, Ont., led the 67s and all OHL rookies in scoring with 70 points (26 goals, 44 assists) in 63 games while recording just 18 penalty minutes. He posted the highest point total by a 67s rookie since Jerrett DeFazios 71 points during the 1988-89 season. Konecny was selected first overall by Ottawa in the 2013 OHL priority selection draft. "Its an honour to be recognized in such a way and it really means a lot to me," Konecny said. "Id like to thank Coach Byrne and the entire Ottawa 67s staff for their help.
