CHARLOTTE, N. Pirates Jerseys 2020 .C. -- Rams coach Jeff Fisher says quarterback Sam Bradford will have an MRI on his left knee Sunday night after the team lands in St. Louis. The quarterback was injured in the fourth quarter of Sundays 30-15 loss to the Carolina Panthers when he landed on his knee after being shoved out of bounds by Panthers safety Mike Mitchell. The team offered no update on the extent of the injury and Bradford was not made available for comment. He was to accompany the team on the flight back to St. Louis late Sunday afternoon. Fisher said Bradford "was in significant pain on the sideline." Bradford did have X-rays on the knee before leaving Charlotte. "Its a left knee and its the knee with the brace on it," Fisher said. "Were going to get off the airplane and hell go have an MRI so well have some information on that later." As for the injury, Fisher said "Im not going to speculate. Im not going to deal with hypotheticals until I find out whats going on with him. It makes no sense to rush to any conclusion with him. Not until we know." Bradford was in pain on the Rams sideline for several minutes holding his left knee before two Rams assistants helped him to his feet and carried him to the bench. He was then helped to a cart and taken to the locker room. He was replaced by Kellen Clemens. Clemens said the Rams are "all thinking about ifs right now", but said he will be ready next week if needed. The Rams host the Seattle Seahawks next Monday night. "Its never easy when you see a teammate go down," Clemens said. "When you see a person that you spend as much time with as I do with Sam and genuinely care about as a person. ... I have great respect for what he does on the field, but just as genuine concern for him as a person. It was not easy to see. Hopefully its quick." The Rams players were hoping for the best, but fearing the worst after the game. "Sam is a really good guy and a smart player," linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar said. "Thats really tough. I hope its not as bad as it looks. Its tough to see him carted off like that." Said centre Scott Wells: "Even if Sam wasnt hurt, we still have some heavy lifting to do. But this adds extra to it." This week that man will be backup linebacker Dane Fletcher. With Brandon Spikes joining three key defenders on injured reserve with a knee injury, Fletcher is likely to see a lot more action when the Patriots host the Indianapolis Colts in an AFC divisional-playoff game Saturday night. "Everybody has to step up," Fletcher said Tuesday. "Everybodys role kind of increases on defence, especially in the linebacker unit." Spikes, an outstanding run stopper in his fourth season, was placed on injured reserve Monday. That left the Patriots with six linebackers on their 53-man roster, including rookie free agent JaGared Davis, who was signed off the practice squad Tuesday. Two others have played very little on defence. Rookie Steve Beauharnais has one tackle in two games and Chris White has one defensive tackle while being used mostly on special teams. The remaining starters are Donta Hightower and rookie Jamie Collins, a first-round draft choice. "It could be one problem play that costs your whole team so you dont want to be that guy. So its just kind of that time of the year where everything amps up in every aspect of the game." New England has played most of the season with three of its best defensive players on injured reserve. Tackle Vince Wilfork played the first four games, tackle Tommy Kelly played the first five and linebacker Jerod Mayo played the first six.
